Eriikka Koistinen appointed director of communications of the National Emergency Supply Agency
The National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA) has appointed Eriikka Koistinen, Master of Social Sciences, as its new director of communications. Koistinen took up the position on Monday 19 January 2026.
At the NESA, Koistinen’s duties include strategic planning and implementation of communications, supporting stakeholder cooperation and promoting awareness of the NESA and security of supply work through communications. As director of communications, she is also a member of the NEAS’s executive committee and the supervisor of the communications team.
“I am very pleased to welcome Eriikka Koistinen, who has a deep understanding of strategic communications and security issues, to the NESA’s executive committee. Eriikka’s strong track record in various communications roles will provide excellent support for the whole NESA in its upcoming new era as a government agency. Her background in communications related to the security of society, preparedness and emergency situations will also enable the NESA to respond more effectively to the communication needs arising from changes in the security environment,” says CEO of the NESA Janne Känkänen.
Koistinen has previously worked as communications director at the Ministry of the Interior and in communications positions at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the City of Espoo and the Ministry of Transport and Communications, among others.
“The NESA’s communications efforts contribute to building a common situational picture, make security of supply understandable and relevant to different stakeholders and support multi-stakeholder cooperation, everyday preparedness and information exchange in the event of disruptions,” Koistinen describes.
