Overall situational picture of security of supply 11 February 2026 – minor disruptions, but overall picture calm

The overall situational picture of security of supply is calm, although smaller disruptions have been reported in different industries. GNSS jamming, component delivery delays and economic challenges continue to be reported. The United States’ ambitions concerning Greenland and the resulting discussion about ICT dependencies are a concern for some industries.

Weather conditions have caused challenges in the logistics sector. Low subzero temperatures have caused problems with AdBlue systems, and winter weather has increased the number of road accidents. In Lapland, an exceptionally high number of flights have had to be cancelled. The maritime transport sector is facing challenges due to icy conditions and low sea water levels.

As regards electricity, margins in generation and grid operation are small. Electricity may become temporarily scarce due to breakdowns or other reasons.

In the ICT sector, rising costs caused by the demand for AI, including server capacity, have become a challenge. Supply chain costs have increased and there are challenges regarding the availability of components.

The overall situational picture of security of supply compiled by the National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA) examines the challenges in the operating environment from several perspectives. The situational picture report includes an overview of different industries’ ability to function and the challenges they may face.

The publication cycle of the overall situational picture of security of supply compiled by the NESA can be changed as necessary. The NESA releases a brief summary of the situational picture report. The details concerning industries are classified and are therefore not made public.
