Survey of the information environment, August 2026: Finnish information environment peaceful
The situational picture of the information environment is peaceful, according to the National Emergency Supply Agency’s (NESA) August 2026 survey into disinformation and coordinated information influence activities taking place in the Finnish information environment.
During the two-month survey period, two disinformation campaigns were identified, along with numerous signs of smaller-scale fraudulent activities. However, these are not assessed to have any impact on the information security or security of supply of Finnish society.
The identified disinformation was related to comments made on the recent events in Ceuta, the Spanish autonomous city in North Africa, among other things. In addition to this, ghost accounts were identified in a scam message campaign.
The NESA’s information analysis produces surveys outlining the state of the information environment every two months. Only a brief summary of the surveys is published on the NESA’s website. The details are classified and are therefore not made public.
